Tom duPont honored as a recipient of the Legends of Auto Award
This past August, Tom duPont was honored to be a recipient of the Legends of Auto Award presented by World Auto News. The 10th annual gala was held in Monterey, California, sponsored by Mecum Auctions. The mission statement is “to recognize individual accomplishments that have significantly advanced the auto industry around the world and helped develop the next generation of auto industry leaders.” Previous recipients of the Legends of Auto Awards include such automotive luminaries as Lee Iacocca, Jay Leno, Roger Penske, and the late Carroll Shelby. “I am honored to be among such a distinguished group of Legends”, said Mr. duPont. Tom duPont is the past Chairman of duPont Publishing and was Publisher of the duPont REGISTRY for 33 years. He was recently appointed Publisher Emeritus and still retains the title of Publisher of duPont REGISTRY Tampa Bay.
Over his 33 year career, Mr. duPont has participated in many Concours d’Elegance and auto auctions. He has also received the prestigious Lee Iacocca Award presented to the person who has shown excellence in dedication to the preservation of the American Automotive tradition.
